The List of First Batch of 510 Existing Substances Subject to Registration under K-REACH was Published by Korea MOE

1st July 2015, Korea MOE published the list of first batch of existing substances subject to registration under K-REACH, which includes 510 substances.
The manufacturers or importers who are on this list are required to complete the registration within 3 year if the tonnage of manufacturing or importing is larger than 1 ton per year. If the listed manufacturers or importers fail to complete the registration by the deadline, illegal manufacturing or importing will be considered and relevant punishments under K-REACH will be performed. Within the 3-year grace period, those substances are still allowed to be manufactured or imported.
Significant attentions should be paid on the notes at the end of the list that published by MOE that the hydrates of the listed 510 substances are required to be registered separately. This is quite different from EUREACH, under which the hydrates of the registered substances can be exempted. However, the hydrate of the substance and the substance are regarded as two different substances that both are subject to registration under K-REACH.
CIRS experts recommend that enterprises shall check the 510 substances carefully to make sure if the registration is required. For the enterprises with listed substances, registration is recommended to be completed as early as possible; for enterprises, whose substances have not been listed yet, should still keep an eye on the progress of K-REACH. The second and third batches of the substance lists are expect to be published in 2018 and 2021.
