CNAC publishes the first list of registered overseas producers of dairy products.

1 May 2014, The Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNAC) has published the names of the first batch of accredited overseas producers of dairy products that have registered themselves with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of People’s Republic of China (AQISIQ). There are 1122 dairy manufacturers including 41 infant formula manufacturers on the first list as of 1 May 2014. After 1 May 2014, dairy products produced by foreign manufacturers other than those on the list are not allowed to be imported into China. The AQSIQ is still working on reviewing more applications. The list will be updated continuously and published on both AQSIQ’s website and CNCA’s website.

According to the Administrative Measures on Inspection and Quarantine of Export-import Dairy Products (AQSIQ Decree No. 152) that were issued by the AQISIQ on 1st Jan 2013 and came into force on 1 May 2013, overseas manufacturers must go through a registration process with AQSIQ and gain accreditation first before their products - Colostrum, raw milk and dairy products - are imported into China. The transitional period of AQISQ Decree No. 152 ended on 1 May 2014.
