CIRS to Talk in the Free Webinar Hosted by Royal Society of Chemistry: How Research Organizations Can Ensure Compliance with the GHS CLP Chemical Regulation

original article from CIRS

May 28, 2:00pm – 3:00pm GMT

Part one of a two part webinar series covers what to expect now that the 1 June deadline has passed

Research labs typically have thousands of chemicals on site, many of which are hazardous materials. Each of these will require compliance with the latest revisions in ECHA’s CLP Classification, Labeling and Packaging of substances and mixtures regulation. These revisions align with the UN’s Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Chemical Classification and Labeling, and require all hazardous chemicals on site to have a new GHS-compliant label and an updated Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

Hosted and moderated by the Royal Society of Chemistry, this webinar will discuss the requirements, and provide helpful tips for how to comply as well as how to ensure your hazardous chemical inventory management is safe and the data accurate.

Managing Director for Ireland’s Chemical Inspection and Regulation Services Ltd. (CIRS), Louise Halpin, will discuss the new GHS and CLP requirements concerning chemical labels and SDSs, including strategies for compliance. She will be joined by BIOVIA’s Anne Sefried who will discuss how technology enables both lab and EH&S professionals to seamlessly integrate processes and workflows associated with hazardous chemical and SDS management to ensure conformance to CLP/GHS regulatory requirements.
