208 Substances to Be Added Onto China IECSC (2010)

14 May 2012, According to an internal notice from China MEP published last month, 208 substances have been approved to be added onto the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances Produced or Imported in China (IECSC).

A majority of those substances are intermediates and fluorinated compounds. It is not clear yet when those substances will be added onto the online IECSC database available from the following link:

Companies who have searched the public and confidential section of IECSC before and concluded that their substances are new substances are strongly advised to check if the substances are on the list of 208 substances to be added onto China IECSC to avoid unnecessary notification costs.

If you would like to search if your substance is on the list of 208 substances or whether your substance is included in the confidential section of IECSC, please contact eric.xiong@cirs-reach.com. CIRS can help you search the list or the confidential section of IECSC for free. This offer is limited to one substance per company only.

Background Information

The 208 substances have been added onto IECSC through the application of IECSC inclusion, a process that allows companies to add their substances onto IECSC without going through notification process and supplying any testing data if companies can provide proof that a substance has been produced or used in China before 15 Oct 2003.

China MEP has issued a public notice [2011]1366 last year to stop accepting applications for getting substance, produced or used in China prior to 15 Oct 2003, listed on Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances Produced or Imported in China (IECSC) from 18 Nov 2011.
