On November 26, 2019, the General Administration of Customs, P.R.China (GACC) issued the Administration Measures on the Registration of Overseas Manufacturers of Imported Foods (Draft) for public comments. 

With the goal of helping companies have a better understanding of how GACC works, CIRS held a webinar to talk about this regulation. This webinar will have an introduction to this draft, show the documents which companies need to prepare, talk about the current registration process and give the CIRS analyses.

Enterprises have long been troubled by the fact that imported prepackaged foods are destroyed or returned because their ingredients are not in compliance with Chinese food regulation. Since there is no positive list for food ingredients in China, it is really difficult for oversea enterprises to check if the food raw materials and additives used in food are Chinese regulatory compliant or not. With the goal of helping enterprises to have an overview of Chinese food ingredients, this webinar will introduce the allowed food ingredients in China, explain how to check if the food ingredients can be used in specific products, and give suggestion on the unapproved ingredients.

CIRS Free webinar: Changes of Health Food Labels with Warning Statements and New Regulations on Available Excipients and Provisions for Health Food Filing Products

On August 20th, 2019, SAMR issued ‘Guidelines on warning terms for health food labels’. This guideline aims to strengthen Health Food supervision, and it will be enforced formally since January 1st, 2020.

On 6th November, SAMR issued the ‘Available Excipients and Provisions for health food filing products’. This regulation will be enforced formally since 1st December 2019.

With the goal of helping companies have a better understanding of the alteration of these two regulations, CIRS held a webinar to talk about these two regulations. This webinar will have an introduction to China's health food, talk about the new regulation and see the changes in the excipients content. We will give analyses of the key points.

Asian Helsinki Chemical Forum and the 4th Summit Meeting on Chemical Regulations in Asia Pacific (HCF&SMCR 2019) will be held in Shanghai on 24th -25th October 2019 as a merged conference. The Asian HCF will be a shorter version of the 2019 HCF taking place in Helsinki on 23rd-24th May with high-level keynote speeches and open debate among speakers and public on hot topics in chemicals regulation globally. The three topics will be taken from the five presented in Helsinki as they are equally relevant to Asia. The compositions of the panels and the audience will be different so that the content and conclusions will be suitable and unique to the Asian context.

HCF&SMCR 2019 also will invite government officials and company regulatory experts from China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia to make presentations on updated chemical regulations and compliance issues in those countries.
