China MEP publishes new statistics regarding the number of registration certificates for new chemical substances

31 July 2014, Chinese Ministry of Environment Protection (MEP) has published new statistics regarding the numbers of environmental administration registration certificates and scientific research record certificates issued for new chemical substances in the first half of this year. This disclosure was made according to the article 22 and 23 of the Provisions on Environmental Administration of New Chemical Substances in China.

From January to June of 2014, 64 new chemical substances were successfully registered under MEP Order No.7 as typical notification. 249 chemical substances were registered as simplified notification (normal case), while 310 new substances were registered as simplified notification (special case). The MEP also published the number of scientific record for new chemical substances in China in the first half year of 2014, which is 472.

The names of substances, notifiers and categories of notification can be found below (in Chinese). Please note new substances cannot be added onto IECSC through simplified notifications.
