Registration of hazardous chemicals is a new obligation for importers in China under the Regulations on Safe Management of Hazardous Chemicals(Decree 591 of the State Council of China) and the Measures for the Administration of Registration of Hazardous Chemicals(Order 53 of the State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS)).

The chemicals listed in the Catalog of Hazardous Chemicals should be registered with the National Registration Centre for Chemicals(NRCC) prior to importation under SAWS's Order 53 while physical hazard identifications shall be carried out by eligible institutes for chemicals with unknown hazard characteristics prior to registrations. On 26 Sep 2013, China SAWS has published the draft Catalog of Hazardous Chemicals(2013) for public consultations. All of these will have great impact on companies importing hazardous chemical products(i.e, solvents, inks, paints, adhesives) to China.

CIRS has invited experts from the National Registration Center for Chemicals of SAWS to bring you the latest updates of HazChem registrations and give you a demo of how to register hazardous chemicals in China. The latest Chinese GHS national standard for SDSs GB/T 17519 - 2013 Guidance on Compilation of Safety Data Sheet for Chemical Products will also be discussed at this workshop.
