The 2nd Shanghai Summit Meeting on Chemical Regulations in China, Korea and Japan - 2012

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thanks for your interest in the 2nd “Shanghai Summit Meeting on Chemical Regulations in China, Korea and Japan” held in Shanghai on 24-25 October 2012. The 2nd Shanghai Chem Summit 2012, organised by CIRS, KTR and JEMAI, was successfully held in Shanghai on 24-26 Oct 2012. More than 180 delegates from chemical industry (including Dow, DuPont, DSM, Lanxess, AkzoNobel, Boeing, Evonik, Syngenta, Ashland, Chevron, and Chemical Watch etc) & over 20 government official from China, Korea & Japan have attended this summit.

More pictures of this event can be found here.

Since the introduction of EU REACH regulation, China, Korea and Japan have revised or drafted their own chemical legislation recently to overhaul chemicals management, creating new challenges to chemical industry and regulatory authorities. In a time when chemical regulations have become more stringent at an international level, how should chemical industry respond to the increasing needs of chemical regulatory compliance in China, Korea and Japan? How do regulatory authorities strengthen their chemical safety management and seek the balance between the chemical trade and the protection of human health and environment?

CIRS, KTR and JEMAI are jointly planning the 2nd “2012 Shanghai Summit Meeting on Chemical Regulations in China, Korea and Japan”.  The topics of this summit include chemical registrations in China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Europe, risk assessment, GHS implementation and supervision of the import and export of chemicals in China, Korea and Japan. This summit is aimed at assisting collaboration between the three countries, building transparent sharing of regulatory updates and enforcement measures, and promoting the safety and sustainability of chemical industry in Asia-pacific region.

Last year, more than 200 delegates have participated in this summit. We sincerely look forward to your attendance again! We feel through your involvement in the summit, we can come closer to achieving our goal.

Your sincerely,

Summit Organizing Committee
Chemical Inspection & Regulation Service (CIRS)
Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR)
Japan Environmental Management Association for Industry (JEMAI)
